There are a lot of skincare routines out there today that solely tend to focus on making complexions look tauter, younger and dewier and while these are all noble things to do in the name of beauty , it’s worth remembering that one of our primary concerns should always be keeping your face sanitized.
As we all are aware water alone just won’t cut it. If people who thought they had ‘cleaned’ their face, took a thermal imaging photo not only they be shocked but also appalled at the number of bacteria they saw on your face at a given time.
When it comes to me, washing our face is the most important step of the beauty routine. The face wash has to be highly compatible
with the skin composition to avoid any harsh effect of the process but at the same time it has to be effective in cleansing as well as improving our skin texture.
We need a face wash, a really good one that is match for our skin type, condition and skin needs. Here are all the benefits associated with incorporating it into our beauty routine:
- Cleaning the surface of our skin Probably the most important feature of a face wash is to help to remove the dirt, oil and urban pollutants that water alone can leave behind. If wearing makeup is part of the daily routine, then it’s essential to wash and cleanse our skin before bed. Using any mild face wash as a gentle cleanser is suitable for any normal, sensitive or even rosacea-prone skin as it thoroughly cleanses that to without causing any irritation leaving behind only soothed and hydrated skin.
- Helps in exfoliation Face wash not only just gets rid of our complexion of all the icky stuff but also sweeps away any dry skin
and other debris thus helping to reveal a fresh layer of skin beneath the surface. Our face becomes more even-textured which results in a natural glow. There are many face wash readily available in the market that are perfect for mildly exfoliating resulting in gently buffing away dead cells leaving the skin completely refreshed and brightened. Some face wash has cooling gel effect which also gives a deep skin cleanse from any impurities and results in cooling effect to the skin.

facial skin. It is also incredibly relaxing and therapeutic as well as helps in fighting various signs of ageing.
How to use face wash?
Well I personally prefer to add a pump/few drops of the face wash on the palm of my hand then add a few drops of water and emulsify it – then apply it on my skin with a gentle massage for a couple of minutes in a gentle motion. Later I rinse with lukewarm water. We can
also wash our face with face wash by massaging direct onto wet skin. It is also better to remove it by splashing water and pat drying gently with clean towel.
It is good to keep in mind that we shouldn’t be harsh with our skin by using products with way too many harsh chemicals in it. Also remember that the pH of a face wash plays an important role and it should be around five. The pH of my cleanser is five as the skin enzymes
that produce ceramides to keep the barrier healthier work better at this range of pH.
