Compare Korean cosmetics wholesale prices using the same product, pack size, quantity and cost basis. A discount percentage alone cannot tell you which quotation fits your business. Check the final payable amount and the stock conditions before estimating your selling margin.
Receive the sheet by email, choose products, then request a confirmed quotation on WhatsApp. No payment is required to request the sheet.
Start with an identical product specification
Two quotations are not comparable if one is for a different size, formula, shade or boxed set. Build a reference list with the full product name, sellable pack, required units and any variant details. Ask the supplier to quote against that list rather than matching abbreviated product names yourself.
Record quoted availability and expiry conditions alongside price. A lower-priced lot with a shorter remaining selling window may be unsuitable for your store. The right comparison is the cost of stock you can actually use under acceptable terms.
Keep MRP and wholesale price separate
MRP is a retail reference. Your wholesale purchase price comes from the supplier’s quote or price sheet. A stated discount needs a clear reference price, eligible pack and calculation basis. Ask whether the resulting unit price includes GST and whether additional discounts are conditional on quantities or payment.
On Zosmetics, displayed website prices are MRP including GST; wholesale prices are sent by email. Do not use the catalogue display as a wholesale offer. Confirm the selected lines and totals in the formal quotation.
Use this quotation-comparison worksheet
Exact item: product, size, variant and sellable pack.
Quantity: units per line and case multiples where applicable.
Unit price: wholesale price after line discounts.
Tax basis: included or additional, using the actual quotation.
Freight and handling: stated amount and any conditions.
Stock condition: batch, expiry and remaining shelf life agreed.
Timing: availability confirmation and dispatch trigger.
Total payable: reconciled to the quote and payment details.
Where quotes contain different assumptions, ask for a revised version before choosing. Do not mentally add an unknown shipping charge or assume a tax treatment just to make the columns line up. Mark unknowns explicitly.
Calculate unit cost on a consistent basis
For a simple stock-planning view, divide the costs you allocate to a line by the sellable units received. Record how freight is allocated: evenly by unit, by weight or by line value. Use the same method when comparing orders, and keep damaged or unsellable units visible in your records.
Tax-inclusive cash paid and accounting cost after any applicable tax credits are different views. Choose a consistent basis and confirm the treatment with your accountant. Do not compare a tax-inclusive purchase amount to a tax-exclusive sale amount and call the difference a margin.
Gross margin and markup are not the same
Hypothetical example only: on a consistent tax basis, suppose an item costs ₹600 and sells for ₹1,000. Gross profit before other selling expenses is ₹400. Gross margin is ₹400 divided by ₹1,000, or 40%. Markup is ₹400 divided by ₹600, or approximately 66.7%.
Neither figure is a promise of achievable returns. Payment fees, discounts, customer shipping, packaging, advertising, returns, overheads and unsold stock can reduce what remains. An MRP of ₹1,000 does not establish that a customer will pay ₹1,000.
Factor in the shelf-life and cash commitment
Check whether the order requires you to hold more units than your store can reasonably sell. A lower unit cost from a larger purchase can leave more cash tied up in slow stock. Use your own sales history or a conservative test plan rather than an assumed universal sales rate.
Read the wholesale MOQ guide before increasing a basket to unlock a discount. Also check the supplier’s payment, cancellation and damage terms; they affect the risk of the purchase even when the invoice arithmetic is correct.
Frequently asked questions
Is the largest discount always the best quote?
No. Check the reference MRP, exact pack, expiry, freight and final payable amount. Different starting assumptions can produce misleading discount comparisons.
Should I use MRP as my expected selling price?
Record your intended selling price separately and test whether it is realistic for your customers. Do not assume the full MRP will be realised.
Can a wholesaler guarantee my margin?
Your result depends on purchase cost, selling price, operating costs and sell-through. Treat hypothetical margin calculations as planning tools.
